Every walk-off in MLB postseason history

2020.09.19 06:13 displacedindavis Every walk-off in MLB postseason history

REQUEST: I do ask that you please try not to overwhelm the comments section with Cheatstros/Asterisks posts. Yes, that happened, it was terrible, but let's try and focus on the bigger picture here as well.
The walk-off is an iconic tradition that makes baseball truly special compared to other sports. When it happens in the postseason, it's even more epic (provided, of course, you didn't root for the team that lost the game).
It's just a win, right? Well, there's a strange psychological effect associated with walk-offs. It requires a ton of effort just to make a walk-off scenario possible. It means you played the other team close. It's fun to keep up with the other team but also frustrating to watch the other team keep up with you all the way down to the end. Maybe your team had a miraculous late surge. Or maybe you're trying to negate the other team's late miraculous surge. At this point, for all the work you've put in, all the joy and/or heartbreak you've experienced, the only acceptable outcome is a win. And boy, does it feel good to get it.
And you can multiply this sentiment in the postseason because every game counts. A long, exhaustive list of postseason walk-offs to follow. Relive the joy...or pain...or both.

2020.09.06 20:00 tutetibiimperes Nugu Roundup #55 - # - 200906 + Album Giveaway!

Hello and welcome to the latest Nugu Roundup!
What is this?: This is a weekly feature designed to highlight the unknown/underappreciated groups and soloists working hard in the Kpop world that often fall under the radar. Please share your own information, favorite performance videos, fanmeet stories, or anything else relevant below!
Last week's roundup targeted Target. This week let's check out a group that's been active on Twitter even if they haven't had a comeback in a while, let's get to know Hashtag!
Look at the first comment below for the winner of the ninth Nugu Roundup Album Giveaway, plus details on this week's album up for grabs!
What is Nugu?: While in Korean it literally means 'Who' in the broader Kpop context it refers to groups that are generally unknown amongst the greater public. It doesn't have to mean they're extremely new, though it can, and there are of course varying degrees of 'unknown' which some groups having very strong niche fandoms and others being almost invisible. I take a fairly broad view and will include groups that may be known to some, but who don't have widespread name recognition.
Let's get on with the show...
________________________________________________________
HASHTAG
Who are they?: Hashtag is a 7 member girl group under LUK Factory. Former member of first-gen powerhouse Baby V.O.X Kan Mi Youn took part in the selection of the group members and has helped promote them. Their fandom name is Happi.
Company: LUK Factory also represents boy group NOIR and formerly was the home of TROPICAL before the disbanded. They also represent actor Park Gun-Woo.
Members
Debut: October 10th, 2017 with Hue (MV) Live Stage (Link) Choreography Video (Link)
Most Recent Comeback: April 15th, 2019 with Freesm (MV) Live Stage (Link) Dance Practice (Link)
Other Release: October 1st, 2019 with My Style (MV) Live Stage (Link)
Unit Release: September 18th, 2018 with Maemmaeya (MV) Live Stage (Link)
YouTube Channel: Hashtag Official
Twitter: Hashtag Official
Random Stuff
Facts: Though the group hasn't had a comeback in nearly a year and hasn't updated their YouTube account in quite a while they are still active on Twitter and Vlive. Member Sua is friends with Huihyun of DIA, and she appeared in Power-Rangers web drama called Nano Warriors Lokapa (link). The group has expressed a desire to perform internationally yet thus far have not had any tours that I can find. The group says that their music represents feelings and experiences that young girls face in their everyday lives.

Soloist of the Week
AALIA
Who is she?: A singer-songwriter under OGAM Entertainment, she typically trends towards the R&B style but also branches into other genres as well.
Debut: December 26th, 2018 with Maybe I was Wrong (audio)
Most Recent Comeback: September 2nd, 2020 with The Night Without You (My Blue Moon) (MV)
Other MVs and Releases
YouTube Channel: AALIA
Random Stuff
Trivia: She is originally from London, England and has also lived in Paris. She is fluent in English and Korean. She can play the guitar.
________________________________________________________
IN MEMORIAM
VX
Who were they?: VX was a 5 member boy group under JJ Entertainment. Their name stood for 'Voice of Six'. Their fandom name was Sunshine.
Company: JJ Entertainment seems to have changed their name to, or been bought out by, Yechan Media, the hope of current boy group N.Tic and former home of girl group A-Seed (who seem to have disbanded through lack of activity).
Releases
YouTube Channel: VX VX
Active Between: July 13th, 2015 - November 13th, 2017
Reasons for Disbanding: The company released an official statement but never gave a reason. Given that the group never seemed to gain any traction and received little investment, with only a single MV from all of their releases and only a single song promoted on music shows, it appears that lack of money was the major factor.
Trivia: Two members Jinwha and Shiyoon, were former members of the short-lived boy group Millenium. Member Jeki is now a model under Esteem Entertainment.
________________________________________________________
That's it for today, let's get the discussion on!
As always, if you have any suggestions for groups, content, or things you'd like to see, please let me know in the comments below.
Also as always, a big shout-out to u/not-named-in-credits for founding nugutown and u/sharnaranwan for continuing the work over there.

2020.08.28 21:07 portlane Dorothy Smith (June 25, 1920 - Aug. 20, 2020)

Dorothy Grace Smith
June 25, 1920 - Aug. 20, 2020
Dorothy Grace Smith, 100, died in Portland, Ore., of age-related causes Aug. 20, 2020, after a very long and fulfilling life. She was born in Cadwell, Ga., the second of two daughters, to Arthur Russell Smith and Grace Thurman Castellaw Smith, and grew up in downtown Atlanta, Ga.
One of her fondest memories of that time was being present at the opening of Gone with the Wind in 1939 as a 19-year-old. Shortly afterward, when on a bus in downtown Atlanta, she met her future mother-in-law, who told her that she wanted to introduce Dorothy Grace to her son, John. It was a match! She married John Andy Smith, Jr., of Talbotton, Ga., June 28, 1941 at First Baptist Church, Atlanta. Shortly after their marriage, John went off to World War II, and she moved back home to her parents' house on Tenth St., where she had her first child.
When the war ended, John went to law school at Emory University, and they had a second child. When John was subsequently called back to service in the Army, he joined the JAG Corps and was posted to Ft. Lee, Virginia, where their third child was born. A few years later, John was shipped to Korea. Dorothy Grace, once again, stayed behind in Atlanta with her, now, three children. Upon John's return to the U.S., they began their peripatetic married life in the military. Dorothy Grace met these constant moves with grace and humor and found small reasons to be happy everyday wherever she was living. The focus of her life was always her family, friends, and faith.
Dorothy Grace continued this adventurous life until 1966, when John retired from the Army, and they moved back to metropolitan Atlanta. In 1984, a little more than a year after completion of their dream home on a lake, Dorothy Grace was unexpectedly widowed. She chose to remain in her home and in 1987 married her friend and companion, Kimsey Ware Davis. After his death in 2006, she decided to leave Atlanta to be closer to family and, in 2007, she moved to Portland, Ore., to live with her daughter. In 2008, she moved to Mary's Woods in Lake Oswego, Ore. In 2017, she moved one final time–to Sylvan Crown Senior Care Home, where she found great warmth and received excellent care from Adela, Simona, and Codrin. Special thanks also go to the many volunteers who visited her from Lake Grove Presbyterian Church, especially Laurel, and to her hospice nurse, Sarah. She is survived by her children, John Andy Smith, III (Kim Latham), Susan Grace Smith Mersereau (Peter), and Arthur Roy Smith (Lisa); her niece, Sara Elizabeth Davis Sigler (Michael); her grandchildren, Barrett Christopher Mersereau (Gulgun), Travis Ryan Mersereau (Carly), Courtney Leigh Mersereau, Nathan Charles Smith, and Jessica Kay Smith Doyle (Ben); and her four great-grandchildren, Max, Eren, Jaxon, and Zoe. She was predeceased by both husbands; and her only sister, Evelyn Winnifred Smith Davis.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Arlington Memorial Park, Atlanta, Ga. Any remembrances should be made in her name to the charity of your choice.

2020.07.28 09:31 guns_n_gardenias Cards Against Humanity Custom Word List! 😈😈😈

I didn't copy the cards word-to-word (the sentences may be too long?) so I broke them down a bit. Also, I filtered out most of the more... NSFW kinky sex-related stuff. Me personally, I don't feel comfortable with people drawing d*cks and vajayjays in a Skribbl game, so I took them out. Feel free to add them back in, if you're okay with it. I also took out some names that aren't really significant to me and the group of friends I play with. There's PDFs of the cards online and their expansions, that's where I got my references :>

2020.07.27 19:17 Highimlids “Ricochet” and Calvin Harris

So I know the fandom has a scathing hatred for Calvin Harris, but hear me out - There are parts of “My Tears Ricochet” that make me believe it’s about Taylor’s relationship with Harris, their public falling out and his handling of the breakup, and the aftermath. Let me set the scene : we all know 2016 was an insane year for Taylor, probably one of the craziest and worst years of her life. As we know, she would eventually refer to that summer as “the apocalypse”. But let’s take a step back to June 2016, when she and Harris broke up:
“And you’re the hero flying around saving face”:
Immediately after their breakup, Calvin tweeted “The only truth is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect.”
In Ricochet Taylor sings: “Even on my worst day, did I deserve babe, all the hell you gave”: Not long after that tweet, he deleted her from social media, and erased every possible trace of their relationship, including the tweet mentioned above. He tweets, then deletes: “Oh boy it's about to go down," along with three skull emojis, then started cruelly responding to fan comments about Taylor, saying that he wasn’t jealous that she was dating someone new: “Not jealous, sir. FREE.” In July, he releases a song insinuating that Taylor was cheating her new boyfriend with him. THEN the whole drama with “This is What You Came For” happened, with Harris publicly berating her, and insinuating she tears other people down for fun - he wrote:
“I figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do. I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and BURY like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry. I won't allow it." To which Katy responds “Time...the ultimate truth teller.”
I capitalized bury because this becomes a common theme - more on that in a sec. It’s during this time that Kim Kardashian releases the recording (that proved Taylor’s point in my opinion) prompting unbridled hatred for Taylor, and resulting in the “#TaylorSwiftisoverparty”, which was trending on Twitter, as well as her being called a snake by basically the entire world, and a mural with her likeness and the words “RIP Taylor Smith”. She would then go on to reference this in “LWYMMD” by saying “oh! Cause she dead” and I’d like to point out that there was a gravestone with the name Nils Sjoberg in the beginning of that video while Zombie Taylor crawled out of a grave.
This leads me to the lyric, “and if I’m dead to you, why are you at the wake? Cursing my name, wishing I stayed...” It seems that during a time when her entire world was crashing down, all Harris could do was be petty, tear her down, join the #taylorswiftisoverparty, and in his own words, try to “bury” her. In Ricochet she further alludes to this singing “you wear the same jewels that I gave you as you bury me” and “you had to kill me but it killed you just the same.”
“And when you can’t sleep at night, you hear my stolen lullaby” This could be an allusion to “This is what you came for”. Though it wasn’t “stolen” necessarily, Harris did have a problem when it came out that Taylor had actually written and helped produce the song, as well as sang in it.
“We gather stones, never knowing what they’ll mean. Some to throw, some to make a diamond ring”
This is Taylor saying time went by and they’ve gone their separate ways, while he was busy gathering stones to throw at her, she was busy falling in love with her future husband (picking out stones for a wedding ring).
Taylor then sings: “you turned into your worst fears - tossing out blame, drunk on this pain, crossing out the good years” In an interview a year later, Harris says of the breakup aftermath:
“It was completely the wrong instinct,” he says, sighing [...] when it ended, all hell broke loose. Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realize that none of that matters. I’m a positive guy.”
Finally, “look at how my tears ricochet” Yes, 2016 was the worst year of her life and Harris made it worse by trying to bury her. He joined the firing squad and tried to burn her as the stake like everyone else, and he clearly regrets it. But now Taylor is in love, happy, making the best music she has ever made. All the tears she cried during the time of her breakup ricocheted and are now his to shed.
Whew - I know that was really long, sorry. Hope no one dislikes me for my interpretation, I know how much the fandom hates Harris.

2020.07.27 12:24 JeffSpicoli82 Who was the Santa Rosa hitchhiker killer?

Between 1972 and 1973, at least seven women and girls were murdered by an unknown assailant (or assailants) in Santa Rosa, California. All of the victims were found nude in rural areas near steep embankments or in creek beds near roads. Who was the Santa Rosa hitchhiker killer?

Maureen Louise Sterling and Yvonne Lisa Weber, both 12-year-old Herbert Slater Middle School students, disappeared around 9 pm on February 4, 1972, after visiting the Redwood Empire Ice Arena. They were last seen hitchhiking on Guerneville Road, northwest of Santa Rosa. Their bodies were found December 28, 2.2 miles (3.5 km) north of Porter Creek Road on Franz Valley Road, down a steep embankment approximately 66 feet (20 m) off the east side of the roadway. A single earring, orange beads and a 14-carat gold necklace with cross were found at the scene. The cause of death could not be determined from the skeletal remains.
Santa Rosa Junior College art student Kim Wendy Allen, 19, was given a ride by two men on March 4, 1972, from her job at Larkspur Natural Foods to San Rafael. They last saw her at approximately 5:20 pm hitchhiking to school near the Bell Avenue entrance to Highway 101, northbound, carrying a large wooden soy barrel with red Chinese characters on it. Her body was found the following day down an embankment in a creek bed 20 feet (6.1 m) off Enterprise Road in Santa Rosa. The victim had been bound at the ankles and wrists, raped and slowly strangled with a cord for an estimated thirty minutes. Semen was recovered from the body and a single gold loop earring was found at the site. Markings at the top of the embankment and a possible leg impression in the loam indicated the assailant likely slipped or fell while throwing or transporting the body. The two men who gave her a ride, one of whom was given and passed a polygraph test, were ruled out as suspects.
Lori Lee Kursa, 13, a Lawrence Cook Middle School student, had been reported missing by her mother on November 11, 1972 after disappearing while they shopped at a U-Save and was last seen on November 20 or 21 in Santa Rosa while visiting friends, having deliberately run away. She had been known to hitchhike occasionally. Her frozen remains were located on December 14 in a ravine approximately 50 feet (15 m) off Calistoga Road, northeast of Rincon Valley in Santa Rosa. The killer had thrown the body at least 30 feet (9.1 m) over an embankment.
The cause of her death was a broken neck with compression and hemorrhage of the spinal cord. The victim had not been raped and likely died one to two weeks prior to discovery. A possible witness to her abduction later came forward stating that on an evening somewhere between December 3 and 9, while on Parkhurst Drive, he saw two men push a girl fitting Kursa's description into the back of a van driven by a Caucasian man with an Afro-type hairstyle. The vehicle then sped north on Calistoga Road.
Carolyn Nadine Davis, 14 years old, ran away from her home outside Anderson in Shasta County on February 6, 1973 but disappeared July 15 after being dropped off by her grandmother at the Garberville Post Office. She was last seen hitchhiking that afternoon near the Highway 101 ramp, southbound, in Garberville. Her body was discovered on July 31 just 3 feet (0.91 m) from where the remains of Sterling and Weber had been recovered seven months prior. Cause of death was strychnine poisoning 10–14 days before discovery. It could not be determined if she had been raped. Investigators postulated that her body had been thrown from the road as the hillside brush appeared undisturbed. A witchcraft symbol meaning "carrier of spirits" was found by her body.
Theresa Diane Smith Walsh, 23, of Miranda, was last seen on December 22, 1973, at Zuma Beach in Malibu, intent on hitchhiking to Garberville and joining her family for Christmas. Her partially submerged body was found six days later by kayakers in Mark West Creek. She had been hogtied with clothesline rope, sexually assaulted, strangled and was determined to have been dead approximately one week. Due to recent heavy rains in the area, high water marks suggested the body could have drifted several miles.
On July 2, 1979, skeletal remains were found in a ravine off Calistoga Road approximately 100 yards (91 m) from where the body of Lori Lee Kursa had been recovered seven years earlier. Due to the age of the remains, authorities initially believed them to be those of Jeannette Kamahele until a comparison of dental records later proved negative. The victim had been hogtied and her arm fractured around the time of her murder but there was no other evidence to establish a cause of death. It was determined that the unidentified victim was approximately 16 to 21 years old, wore contact lenses, had red, auburn, or brown hair, was about 5 feet (1.5 m) tall and at one time had broken a rib which was healed by the time of the murder. She died approximately three years earlier.
... Regarding Jeannette Kamahele: Jeannette Kamahele, 20, a Santa Rosa Junior College student, was last seen on April 25, 1972, hitchhiking near the on-ramp of Highway 101. A friend witnessed her likely abduction and reported that she entered a faded brown Chevrolet pickup truck fitted with a homemade wooden camper and driven by a 20- to 30-year-old Caucasian male with an Afro hairstyle. Her body has never been found.

The suspects:

The Zodiac Killer

The unapprehended Zodiac Killer is a suspect, due to similarities between an unknown symbol on his January 29, 1974 "Exorcist letter" to the San Francisco Chronicle, in which he claims 37 victims, and the Chinese characters on the missing soy barrel carried by Kim Allen, as well as stating an intention to vary his modus operandi in an earlier November 9, 1969 letter to the San Francisco Chronicle: "I shall no longer announce to anyone. when I comitt my murders, they shall look like routine robberies, killings of anger, + a few fake accidents, etc." (sic)

Arthur Leigh Allen

Arthur Leigh Allen, himself a well-known Zodiac suspect, owned a mobile home at Sunset Trailer Park in Santa Rosa at the time of the murders. He had been fired from his Valley Springs Elementary School teaching position for suspected child molestation in 1968 and was a full-time student at Sonoma State University. Allen was arrested on September 27, 1974, by the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office and charged with child molestation in an unrelated case involving a young boy. He pleaded guilty on March 14, 1975, and was imprisoned at Atascadero State Hospital until late 1977.
Robert Graysmith, in his book Zodiac Unmasked, claims that a Sonoma County sheriff revealed that chipmunk hairs were found on all of the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker victims and that Allen had been collecting and studying the same species. Allen was the main suspect in the Zodiac case from 1971 until October 2002, ten years after his death, when his DNA was compared to a partial DNA profile obtained from saliva recovered on the underside of a postage stamp and envelopes from verified Zodiac letters. Results were a conclusive non-match. Fingerprints in blood recovered from the taxicab of Zodiac murder victim Paul Stine, a writer's palm print found on the Zodiac letter of January 29, 1974, and handwriting exemplars failed to identify Allen as Zodiac.

Ted Bundy

After his capture for similar crimes in Washington, Colorado, Utah and Idaho, Ted Bundy was suspected in the murders. Bundy had spent time in neighboring Marin County, but was ruled out by a Sonoma County detective in the 1970s and again in 1989. Detailed credit card records and known whereabouts of Bundy reveal he was in Washington on the dates of some of the disappearances.

Fredric Manalli

Fredric Manalli, a 41-year-old Santa Rosa Junior College creative writing instructor, was suspected when, after his August 24, 1976 death in a head-on collision on Highway 12, sadomasochistic drawings he had created depicting his former student, Kim Wendy Allen (one of the above victims), were discovered among his belongings.
It's worth mentioning that Manalli is also a minor Zodiac suspect, as he had very similar handwriting to Zodiac, and a very strange personal ad ran in the San Francisco Chronicle on August 26th, 1976 (the day after Manalli died), which read "ZODIAC, Your partner is in DEEP REAL ESTATE. You're next. The Imperial Wizard can save you. Surrender to him or I'll terminate your case. R.A.".

Jeffrey Epstein Learned His Sexual Depravity from Wall Street; Then Took It to the Next Level
***Editor's note: This article appeared on August 19, 2019, in Wall Street on Parade: A Citizen's Guide to Wall Street. I searched and it doesn't appear it has been posted on this sub before. It's a fascinating, shocking and appalling snapshot of what it was like for women working on Wall Street. Hopefully we've evolved. Many of the citations were not archived, so I tried to save everything within the document.

From 1976 to 1981, Jeffrey Epstein worked for the Wall Street investment bank, Bear Stearns. Epstein was found dead in his jail cell on August 10 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking of underage girls, dozens of whom he allegedly sexually assaulted after grooming them first with “inappropriate touching.”

Bear Stearns collapsed in the early days of the 2008 financial crisis and was purchased by JPMorgan Chase. One of the last acts of Bear Stearns’ CEO, Jimmy Cayne, was to make a $2 million payment to a woman who charged that the legendary Chairman of Bear Stearns, Ace Greenberg, had engaged in “inappropriate touching.” The young woman was said to have had a witness to her charges. (Link to archive)
In a 2017 report by the New York Times, a former Managing Director of Bear Stearns, Maureen Sherry, reported that “…it was mostly the same men who preyed on young women.” In a 2016 report by Maureen Callahan at the New York Post (Link to archive) a former Bear Stearns’ employee reports that men at Bear Stearns were “getting bl*w jobs in front of staff – that happened all the time.” Claims that men at Bear were demanding sexual favors from female colleagues and getting away with it date all the way back to the 1980s. (Link to archive)
As more allegations emerge daily into the sexual assault horrors of Jeffrey Epstein and his band of enablers, a profile is emerging that bears a striking resemblance to how Wall Street has allowed its highest-producing brokers to behave toward vulnerable young female employees for decades. In both situations, there are the enablers; in both situations, there is a failed justice system and powerful lawyers cutting deals; in both situations, there are hundreds of different females asserting the same type of claims over a long period of time with no governmental authority stopping the abuse; and in both situations, powerful men who were an important cog in Wall Street’s insatiable quest for profits were allowed to walk away from a multitude of credible sexual assault allegations.
Jeffrey Epstein’s major divergence from the sexual assaults by Wall Street brokers’ is that he preyed on underage girls. It is notable, however, that many Wall Street firms hire young women just out of high school to be “trained” to work in their branch offices. The sexual grooming is not as overt as in the Jeffrey Epstein cases, where the young girls were hired to give a massage and then told, over time, the massage had to be administered by them naked; and then, after more time, upped to a full-scale sexual assault. But young women in these Wall Street offices are sent a clear message by their Human Resources departments that they need to “get along” with those big producing brokers who generate outsized profits for the firm.
Walk into any of the Wall Street retail brokerage offices that dot the landscape in every major town and city across America and you will see glass-windowed offices filled with white male brokers and pretty, young female sales assistants (a/k/a client service associates) sitting in a low-wage, subservient position at a desk directly outside that office.
Subservience to that broker is ingrained in the following ways: the sales assistant’s performance is officially evaluated by that broker and becomes a written, permanent part of her employment file; the broker, if he is a big producer for the firm, can have the sales assistant fired over any flimsy, trumped-up claim; and, importantly, most Wall Street firms pay these women low wages, leaving it to the broker they work for to give the woman a percentage of his commissions if he finds her “performance” to be to his liking.
All that Wall Street would have to do to alter these sexual and power dynamics is to pay these women a good salary and take the broker’s additional compensation out of the equation. The fact that Wall Street doesn’t alter this dynamic suggests that the industry likes its hunting band to hone their skills on the vulnerable prey in the office as a form of target practice.
Just as Epstein was able to keep his abuse hidden for decades by employing a roster of expensive lawyers who knew how to work the system, Wall Street has all of the largest law firms in America at its beck and call. These law firms have systematically convinced the U.S. Supreme Court and Appellate Courts around the country that Wall Street should be allowed to run its own private justice system; that it should be allowed to make its employees sign a waiver giving up their rights to access the nation’s courts and use Wall Street’s rigged kangaroo court system instead.
Most Americans would agree that Wall Street is the most corrupt industry in America. And yet, the most corrupt industry is the only industry that universally requires both employees and customers to waive their rights to use the nation’s courts to settle claims and, instead, must use the Wall Street-created mandatory arbitration system which has none of the procedural protections of a court of law.
What is hiding behind that rigged system of justice is akin to what happened in the Catholic Church where abusing priests were transferred from parish to parish and sexual assault claims were secretly settled with gag orders. At the hands of Wall Street and its private justice system, the media is deprived of a seat in an open courtroom; there are no publicly available court transcripts of the hearings; and the worst sexual assaults are settled quickly with a gag order on all parties. Invariably, the abusive broker keeps his job with no mark on his publicly available record about any sexual assault or sexual harassment settlement. The broker’s public record is maintained by Wall Street’s self-regulator, FINRA – the very same organization that runs the private justice system for Wall Street.
In March of last year Lorena Alcantara filed a sexual harassment claim against Michael Ladge, a high-producing broker in the Beverly Hills office of Morgan Stanley. According to Alcantara’s complaint, “Ladge’s real purpose in hiring Alcantara—a beautiful young woman in her mid-twenties at the time—was to try to exploit his power with Alcantara, to subject her to demeaning and harassing behavior, to use her beauty to attract clients, and to pursue a sexual relationship with her.” Ladge had offered Alcantara a job when he met her working as a waitress and bartender at an L.A. Sports Club. (As one of the largest investment banks on Wall Street, one would think Morgan Stanley would do its own hiring of office personnel.) Alcantara’s complaint included a sworn statement from another assistant, who corroborated much of her account.
According to a quick check at FINRA’s BrokerCheck this morning, Ladge is still employed at Morgan Stanley. Editor’s note: Still there on July 22, 2020.
Alcantara filed her complaint in the California court system. It was, as usual, moved to Wall Street’s private justice system based on that mandatory arbitration agreement that is slipped into a stack of papers that new hires are requested to speedily sign as a non-negotiable condition of getting the job. There have been no media reports on what has happened to the case since it disappeared into the bowels of the arbitration system.
In a saner age of American jurisprudence, these types of non-negotiable contracts were found by courts to be unenforceable and ruled to be contracts of adhesion, since they were offered on a take-it or leave-it basis by the corporation. The very concept of contract law is that both parties to the contract are able to negotiate the final terms. But there is little on Wall Street today that comports with a society based on well-reasoned law. Operating its own private justice system, where arbitrators even hear rape cases, Wall Street has been able to draw a no-law-zone around its coast-to-coast offices.
In April of last year, Susan Antilla, in partnership with the Investigative Fund at the Nation Institute, looked at FINRA’s records going back 30 years. Her investigative team found that only 17 women had prevailed in all that time on their sexual harassment claims against Wall Street firms under this self-imposed private justice system. One of the cases Antilla reviewed involved an alleged rape against a young woman. Antilla reports (Archive)
“In 2004, FINRA arbitrators considered a complaint (PDF) Southwest Securities, a Dallas firm, and three of its male brokers who worked at a Long Island branch. The branch sales manager, Kim Marie Vescova, alleged that one of them raped her in the office and threatened to kill her if she told anyone, according to the panel’s summary of her testimony. She also testified that the men at various times had bitten her on the buttocks, grabbed her breasts and asked for milk, and pulled down her pants.
“The arbitrators said her testimony did not prove rape, though they told the firm to pay her $300,000 in compensatory and punitive damages, plus nearly $30,000 in back pay, and ordered one of the men, Michael Aspler, then the branch manager, to pay her $100,000 for physical assault, verbal abuse, negligent supervision, and infliction of emotional distress. Contacted recently, Vescova said that after the firm had threatened to tie her up in appeals court, she settled for ‘pennies on the dollar’ on those FINRA awards. (Hilltop Securities, parent of Southwest, did not respond to a query; Aspler declined to comment.) The arbitrators also ordered the two other men, Robert Mitchell (Link to PDF) Mark Kern (Link to PDF) — the broker Vescova accused of rape — to pay her $25,000 each for verbal abuse, assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. But neither paid her.
FINRA suspended both of their licenses five years later — not because of what they’d done to Vescova, but for failing to pay the judgment. (Link to PDF) Mitchell and Kern did not respond to queries sent to their last known emails and addresses. Finra asks brokers to report only investment-related customer disputes to be included on their records, so the findings against the men were not detailed in their BrokerCheck records.”
Wall Street men preying on young women with impunity under its private justice system has been the bedrock of Wall Street for as long as anyone can remember. ABC’s 20/20 program brought together 17 women from coast-to-coast offices of the giant brokerage firm, Smith Barney, in 1998 to give first-hand accounts of their sexual assaults and extreme sexual harassment at a firm then headed by Jamie Dimon, now Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase. Jennifer Flood told the moderator, Deborah Roberts, how she was a new young hire in Smith Barney’s Hartford, Connecticut office when one of the brokers offered to drive her to lunch. Flood stated that “He said he wanted to pull my stockings down and sit me on his lap…I jumped out of the car and ran. He caught up to me, grabbed me by the back of the neck, threatened me that I couldn’t tell anybody because no one would believe me because I was this new sales assistant that means nothing, and I’m very expendable.” After Flood filed her complaint with management, the broker continued to work for the firm. (Editor’s note: I can’t find this episode, but I’m sure it exists.)
Marianne Dalton, a new broker trainee in the Los Angeles branch of Smith Barney in 1995, also appeared on 20/20 and gave a first-hand account. The exchange went like this:
Editor's note: I could not find this episode on YOUTUBE but it's probably there. Someone smarter than I can probably find it.
Marianne Dalton: It was like working in a male locker room. It was really degrading comments about women. They were nothing but sperm vaults, sperm banks. And I listened to this every single day. Women were referred to as bitches and whores…
Deborah Roberts: What would you say to someone who would say maybe it had nothing to do with the fact that you’re a woman, but just that you’re a new broker?
Marianne Dalton: I would ask them how they would feel if they had their boss undress every single day at the desk – every single day at 12:45, day in and day out for months, right down to his genitals?
(Dalton explained that despite there being a men’s room in eyeshot of her boss’s desk, he preferred to change into his gym clothes in front of her.)
Deborah Roberts: It’s hard to imagine this could go on in a professional office and nobody would think that this was objectionable.
Marianne Dalton: The bottom line at this firm is that they don’t want the assets to walk, so we’re going to do whatever it takes to make these senior people as happy as can be.
The supervisor Dalton had complained about was still working for the firm at the time the 20/20 program aired.
On the same program, Lisa Mays, an operations manager in the Walnut Creek, California branch of the predecessor firm to Smith Barney described how a top producing broker there, Stu Buttery, tried to rape her when she arrived at the office before other employees had arrived. Despite Mays’ formal complaints to management, Buttery continued to be allowed to work at the firm for the next 24 years.
Robin Leopold had been a Vice President of Human Resources at Smith Barney when women in coast-to-coast offices were making desperate pleas for relief from this outrageous and illegal conduct – pleas that for the most part fell on deaf ears. According to her LinkedIn profile (dead link), Leopold is back working for Jamie Dimon as a Managing Director in Human Resources at JPMorgan Chase.
The Smith Barney women organized themselves into a class action lawsuit and filed their claims in Federal Court in 1996, challenging the mandatory arbitration system as a violation of their civil rights. (See Editor’s note below.) Dimon, the New York Stock Exchange and the predecessor to FINRA, the NASD, were among the named defendants along with Smith Barney. The New York Stock Exchange and the NASD eventually dropped their own requirement that civil rights complaints had to go through the mandatory arbitration system. The big Wall Street banks’ response to that was to simply draft their own mandatory arbitration agreements that they, then and now, force all new hires to sign.
Smith Barney’s initial response to the lawsuit was to call the women “disgruntled employees” and hire a top attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, the same law firm that was hired more recently by Fox News parent, 21st Century Fox, to investigate the alleged sexual abuse of women by Roger Ailes.
The Paul Weiss settlement in the Smith Barney case was assailed by civil rights and employment lawyers. It ushered all claims into its own private arbitration system and extinguished all claims against the male brokers – leaving them free to assault again. It was also revealed in the press that while the case was pending before Judge Constance Baker Motley, the Paul Weiss law firm made job offers to two of the Judge’s law clerks assigned to the case.
The New York Post further revealed that the sexual harassment hotline that was ostensibly set up by Smith Barney to help women make complaints was a dud.
The lead lawyer for Paul Weiss in the case, Mark Belnick, moved on to become General Counsel at Tyco International and was indicted for grand larceny and securities fraud. (Archived article) He was acquitted at trial but only after he had inked a retention agreement (Archived) that guaranteed him a payment of at least $10.6 million should he commit a felony and be fired before October 2003. Any disputes arising out of the retention agreement matter were to be handled in arbitration rather than a court of law.
The National Organization for Women of New York State was so appalled by the terms of the Smith Barney settlement that its President, Lois Shapiro-Canter, an attorney, filed an Amicus brief with the court asking the Judge to reject the settlement. Shapiro-Canter wrote on behalf of NOW-NYS:
“Closed door proceedings and arbiters of justice chosen in part by Defendant Employer confers the appearance of impropriety and does not reflect the open door access to the judiciary of Title VII and other civil rights laws. If in fact Defendant Employer intends in good faith to proceed wholeheartedly with the diversity plans outlined in the agreement, why does it need a mandatory arbitration process a/k/a mandatory alternative dispute resolution system which denies women and minorities their constitutional right to access the courts to ensure freedom from discrimination and sexual harassment?”
When Epstein’s powerful lawyers cut his plea deal with federal prosecutors in 2008, the Palm Beach police had credible evidence that Epstein had sexually assaulted dozens of underage girls at his home in Palm Beach. The police had even asked the FBI to investigate. But the Federal government let Epstein off with a single count of soliciting sex from a minor and one count of soliciting prostitution from an adult. His 13 months of jail time consisted of being ferried by his private driver and limo to an office where he spent 12 hours a day on a so-called work release program.
According to the New York Times, (archive link)
“When Jeffrey Epstein was serving time in Florida for soliciting prostitution from a minor, he got a surprising visitor: James E. Staley (link to Wikipedia), a top JPMorgan Chase executive and one of the highest-ranking figures on Wall Street.” Staley wanted to keep his relationship with Epstein, according to the Times, because “Epstein had funneled dozens of wealthy clients to Mr. Staley and his bank.”
This is precisely the same motive that keeps the big producing brokers safe on Wall Street.
Editor’s Note: Pam Martens, the co-author of the above article and Editor of Wall Street On Parade, worked for two major Wall Street firms for 21 years. During that time, from 1996 through 2001, Martens challenged Wall Street’s mandatory arbitration system and the sexual assaults and sexual harassment of women facilitated under that system in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and at the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in a case titled Martens v Smith Barney in which she originally served as lead plaintiff. The settlement fashioned by plaintiffs’ attorneys and Paul Weiss was deemed so conflicted by Martens that she withdrew from the settlement and never profited from the settlement or any subsequent payment from the parties. Her original co-plaintiff, Judy Mione, joined her in withdrawing from the settlement for the same reasons. Martens also appeared in the ABC 20/20 program referenced above.

-35' The A-League train rolls on with Brisbane Roar hosting Adelaide United at Cbus Super Stadium, which, provided NSW doesn't descend into a second COVID wave, will be the final match in Queensland for the season. Both teams come in with new managers, which Adelaide will hope will result in a turnaround in form, with United losing their last four matches before the shutdown.
-2' The teams make their way out.
-1' One of the nets is broken. Kickoff might still be a few minutes away.
1' After getting a ball out to the middle (that's right, they also forgot the ball), we're underway.
4' Brown pulls the trigger on goal, but it takes a deflection off Elsey and Izzo makes the easy save.
6' BRI 0-1 ADE GOAL - Strain crosses it to Opseth, who is front and centre on goal. He heads it past Young and into the back of the net.
26' Inman gets into a bit of space, but he is brought down from behind by Mauk with no foul given.
28' Brown tries a nutmeg on Elsey inside the box, but it doesn't work out all too well.
30' McGree stops, pushes past the defender, and pulls the trigger on goal from the edge of the box, but Young is able to parry it away and make the save.
34' Scott McDonald goes into the book for bringing down McGree.
35' Ridenton goes into the book for a clumsy challenge.
36' Mauk becomes the first Adelaide plyer to be booked after bringing down Inman.
40' O'Shea takes the free-kick, and he forces Izzo to dive away to his right and push the ball over the crossbar for a stunning save.
44' McDonald takes on all comers as he looks to have a shot on goal from outside the box and he blasts it over the crossbar.
45' Mileusnic takes a shot on goal and it hits the far post and bounces away to the corner. Young was stunned and did not move, so it would have been an almost certain goal.
45' There will be one minute of stoppage time to finish the first half.
HT BRISBANE ROAR 0-1 ADELAIDE UNITED
46' The Roar get the second half underway.
52' Wenzel-Halls pulls the trigger on goal as Izzo slides into the shot and makes the save.
54' Halloran takes a shot from the edge of the box, but it's ineffective as it flies over the crossbar.
58' The Roar make their first change as Ridenton makes way for the A-League debut of Danny Kim.
58' The Reds also make their first change as Opseth makes way for Al Hassan Toure.
67' O'Shea takes the free-kick, but Neville heads it into Toure, who deflects it wide of goal.
72' The Reds make a double change - first, Blackwood replaces Mileusnic.
72' Secondly, Gomulka comes off for Al Hassan's brother, Mohamed Toure.
74' Gillesphey comes off due to injury and he is replaced by Courtney-Perkins.
78' Blackwood gets his head on the ball inside the box, but he hits the crossbar.
79' O'Shea delivers a great ball onto the head of Aldred, but he's unable to get the direction right.
83' Mohamed Toure almost costs Adelaide a penalty, as the deflection off him looked like a handball.
84' Next change for the Roar sees Wenzel-Halls come off and Amadi-Holloway come on.
85' Fourth change for the Roar, as Inman comes off to be replaced by Muratovic.
87' The Reds also make their fourth change as McGree makes way for Marrone.

2020.07.15 22:18 olivehummus What's Going on at Fort Hood?

**DISCLAIMER: This is my first long write-up here, so I apologize in advance for any errors! In addition, I am both non-American and non-military so please let me know if anything should be corrected! [x-post with RedditCrimeCommunity]
About Fort Hood:
Fort Hood is a military base that is located just outside of Killeen, TX, about halfway between Austin and Waco. Home to over 55 000 staff, Ft. Hood is one of the largest bases in the world. The base covers around 340 square miles and is home to III Corps and The First Cavalry Division, as well as many tenant units.
Vanessa Guillen Case:
Fort Hood has recently made international news due to the tragic case of a missing soldier, who was later found murdered. Spc. Vanessa Guillen, a 20-year-old soldier originally from Houston, went missing outside her barracks on April 22, 2020. Before her disappearance, Guillen had recently disclosed to her family, friends, and coworkers that she was being sexually harassed, potentially by a sergeant or supervisor. On June 30th, Guillen's remains were found on the Leon River about 20 miles east of Ft. Hood. The next day, a suspect was located - another soldier name Aaron Robinson. After fleeing the base, Robinson killed himself. A second suspect was arrested, Cecily Aguilar, who was Robinson's girlfriend and the estranged wife of another soldier on base.According to the Guillen family lawyer Natalie Khawam, Robinson bludgeoned Guillen with a hammer in the armory room on base. He put her body in a Pelican case and then returned with Aguilar several hours later to dispose of Guillen's remains.Vanessa's case has been highly publicized and her family is calling for a change to how the military handles sexual violence. Based on descriptions she disclosed of her harasser, it may not have been Robinson. Vanessa's case has also pushed several other unresolved Ft. Hood murders into the spotlight. The Murder Squad podcast recently did an episode on some of the most recent murders, and social media has amplified these cases.
Other Unresolved Cases:
Since March 2020, there have been six other potential homicides at Ft. Hood. The remains of a missing soldier have also been found.
March 1: 20-year-old Spc. Shelby Tyler Jones is found with a gunshot wound outside a convenience store off-base at 3:45 AM. Base officials believe the shooting happened 40 minutes earlier at Club Dreams, a half-mile away, and that his body was dumped in the store afterward.
March 5: 29-year-old Christopher Wayne Smith is found unresponsive at his Ft. Hood residence. Latest case updates indicate that foul play isn't suspected, but nothing has been ruled out.
March 14: 23-year-old Specialist Freddy Delacruz Jr and 23-year old veteran Shaquan Allred are found shot at Summerlyn Apartments in Killeen. A third victim is a 22-year-old civilian named Asia Cline. Officers were initially dispatched to the apartment after reports of gunfire at around 1 am, but did not discover the crime scene until a report of a water leak was called in around 40 minutes later. All three victims had been shot multiple times. Delacruz was a decorated soldier who was described at an 'outstanding trooper' according to his battalion leader. Allred recently retired from the army after working as a combat engineer and previously studied at Duke University. There unfortunately is not much information online about civilian Asia Cline, an Ohio native, who worked as a bartender according to her Facebook profile.
May 18th: 27-year-old PFC Brandon Rosecrans is found shot 13 miles off-post in the nearby city of Harker Heights. His vehicle, an orange 2016 Jeep Renegade, is found on fire nearby. Brandon's father alleges that Brandon was attacked at gunpoint a week before he was killed, possibly by the same suspect(s).
June 19: The remains of 24-year-old PV2 Gregory Wedel-Morales are found in a shallow grave in a residential neighborhood in Kileen after an anonymous tip is called in. Morales was classified as AWOL on August 20 2019 after he failed to return to base. Morales was last seen driving his newly purchased 2018 Black Kia Rodeo off-post in Killeen on the evening of August 19. His last known contact was the following day when he called his mother, Kim Wedel, to ask for some gas money and she gently teased his about his ability to afford a new car but not having the money to gas it up. After Wedel-Morales did not show up to work that day, his sergeant went to his house to look with him, and his wife, Penny Morales, said she had not seen him since the night before. A couple of weeks later, Morales was classified as a deserter, and little effort was taken from the army to look for him.
In December, a family member saw on CARFAX that someone in the Dallas area was trying to have his car inspected and alerted the Army's investigative division (CID). CID took the car into their possession a month later, promising Morales' family that they would run tests on it, yet it is unknown whether these tests were ever run. Wedel-Morales, an Oklahoma native, was a decorated soldier who entered the army in 2015 as a motor transport operator. He got married during his service and changed his last name from Wedel to Morales. During the month that he disappeared, he was in the process of separation. Wedel-Morales had plans to exit the army in September, and was making arrangements to work post-military. Wedel-Morales' family fought to have his status changed from deserter so they could have a proper military burial for him, and were successful as of this morning.
An organization called Military Justice For All has been tracking Foot Hood cases, as they believe there is a disproportionately high death rate at this base. Since 2016, there have been 133 stateside deaths in Ft Hood. In addition to the 7 deaths officially categorized as unresolved homicides, there is suspicion around several of the cases of soldiers being found dead on- and off- post.

When Vanessa Guillen was first reported missing, some on social media thought a Killeen Church may have been responsible for her disappearance. The House of Prayer Christian Church (recently renamed to the House of Help) has been described by many as a cult that has had a continuous, ominous presence at Ft. Hood. There are 2 Church locations in Killeen and 10 more around the country, mainly near military bases. Ex-members have claimed that the Church has committed fraud, multiple forms of abuse, and continually exploits its congregation, many of whom are soldiers. The Church capitalizes off of soldiers' and veterans' educational benefits by enrolling them in a $24 000/year unaccredited Bible seminary with no clear graduation date. In addition, there have been multiple accounts posted online from soldiers describing the aggressive recruiting tactics of the Church, which happen both on and off-base. On the Fort Hood Fallen Facebook page, soldiers have described being approached by the Church at the Killeen Mall, in town, and even outside their barracks. People exposing the Church have also reported being stalked by current members- some have described cars waiting outside their homes, being video-recorded and photographed, and being sent threatening texts and emails. Could this Church/cult have been involved in any of these recent homicide cases?
Sexual Harassment
In the wake of Vanessa Guillen's murder, the hashtag #IAmVanessaGuillen has spread over social media as service members shared stories of the sexual harassment and violence they had faced in the military. Thousands of soldiers have signed a petition started by Guillen's family that calls for the shut down of the base, a thorough investigation into Vanessa's death, and a moratorium of Army enlistment until these demands are met and the systemic sexual violence in the military is addressed. Service members face a disproportionate amount of sexual violence - around one in three female soldiers has reported experiencing sexual assault, compared to around one in five female civilians. A 2014 study from victim advocacy group Protect Our Defenders found that there were an estimated 885 sexual assaults and rapes that year at Fort Hood, adding up to over two a day. Additionally, in 2015 a Ft. Hood soldier named Gregory McQueen was arrested for trying to run a prostitution ring out of the base. McQueen was a member of the US Army's Sexual Harassment and Assault Response/Prevention program at the time, the same unit Guillen would have reported to had she had the chance to lodge a complaint was charged for. McQueen ran 'sex parties' for high-ranking officers and tried to recruit subordinate female soldiers to pimp them out. He was sentenced to only two years in jail. The sexual violence at Ft. Hood likely creates an extremely toxic environment for the soldiers who live on the base. Could this be contributing to the high death rate?

Below is a rundown of letters G-I of Epstein's contacts. Last year, I wrote about letters A-C. You can check that out here (https://www.reddit.com/conspiracy/comments/cpis3n/a_brief_rundown_of_the_first_ten_pages_of_jeffrey/).
I also wrote about letters D-F on July 5, 2020. You can check that out here (https://www.reddit.com/conspiracy/comments/hlrba8/a_notsobrief_rundown_of_letters_df_in_jeffrey/). There are some misspelled names. Epstein entered their names like this.
I have bolded some of the more interesting connections and information, but there could be much more that I overlooked. I hope something here strikes an interest in someone and maybe we can get more investigations out of this. Please, if you know anything more about any of these people than what is presented here, post below. I am working off of the unredacted black book found here: https://www.coreysdigs.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Jeffrey-Epsteins-Little-Black-Book-unredacted.pdf

Bush, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, Henry Kissinger, Helmut Schmidt, and many others. The following website makes some startling connections between Garnero, Epstein, and others (source: https://aeltri.com/2019/02/12/john-of-god-mario-garnero-and-epstein/). Quick summary: Record producer Damon Dash (former co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z) allegedly raped a supermodel who worked for Naomi Campbell at a party thrown by Garnero (source: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/poshs-friend-sued-for-rape-6939248.html).

A petition (https://www.change.org/p/david-kratz-eileen-guggenheim-must-be-removed-for-harm-she-caused-to-maria-farmer-by-jeffrey-epstein?recruiter=30424804) to have her removed as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the New York Academy of Art as a result of Maria Farmer’s allegations has over 10,000 signatures. Himmelstein, Howard: Co-owner of clothing brand Camp Beverly Hill and a producescreenwriter.
Hirsch, Jeff: Owner of Foto Care, a shop that sells professional camera equipment. Claims he is only in the ‘Black Book’ because he sold an expensive camera to Ghislaine many years ago and had to go to her house to show her how to use it (source: https://www.miamiherald.com/news/state/florida/article234312632.html). This, however, doesn’t explain why there are two numbers listed under Hirsch’s name that are attributed to Scott Geffert, the General Manager for Advanced Imaging at the MET museum. This could all be innocent or these two could have assisted in Epstein’s hidden camera setup and helped Epstein get high quality pictures of his victims. We can’t be sure.
Hissom, Robert & Andrea: Robert is the founder of Aspen Capital Partners, a large property management firm. He is a friend of Prince Charles. His ex-wife, Andrea, famously got remarried to Steve Wynn, billionaire Las Vegas hotel tycoon. Prince Harry was a guest of Wynn’s at his Encore resort. Andrea and Wynn are close friends of Donald and Melania Trump (source: https://www.pressreader.com/uk/scottish-daily-mail/20120901/281904475353844).
Hoffman, Dustin: Famous Hollywood actor. Hoffman has been accused of sexual assault on multiple occasions, including exposing himself to a minor (source: https://variety.com/2017/biz/news/dustin-hoffman-2-1202641525/)
Hoffman, Hetty: Married to Robin Dundas, Earl of Ronaldshay. Lady Ronaldshay is a patron and ambassador for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, a UK-based charity that provides care for terminally ill babies and children up to five years old. A good friend of Ben Holland-Martin (listed just below).
Hoffman, Jessica: Sister of Hetty Hoffman (above), Jessica is an artist and former model who married investment banker Leopoldo Zambeletti. She is a good friend of India Hicks (mentioned above), the granddaughter of Lord Mountbatten (Prince Charles’s mentor), who, according to FBI files, was “a homosexual with a perversion for young boys.”
Holland-Martin, Ben: Works for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). His mother, Rosamund, was chairman of the NSPCC for 20 years while Princess Margaret was President and was involved with the NSPCC for more than 50 years (source: https://www.newspapers.com/image/?clipping_id=36141343&fcfToken=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9.eyJmcmVlLXZpZXctaWQiOjI1OTU4NDE2NSwiaWF0IjoxNTk0MzMwNTQ0LCJleHAiOjE1OTQ0MTY5NDR9.j1V2e0Mr3tJmPzusRYNneLVhUskWiIAvNIjdIpvuzj4). Both Ben and his mother are/were friends of Princess Margaret. Rosamund Holland-Martin (nee Hornby) was related to Charles Hornby, a British socialite and close friend of Prince Charles, who was sentenced to 2 ½ years for luring young runaway boys into prostitution, indecent assault, importuning, and living off the earnings of prostitution (source: https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=0FQ0AAAAIBAJ&sjid=YbkFAAAAIBAJ&pg=4638,2085303). Ben is also good friends with Hetty Hoffman (mentioned above), who is an ambassador for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.
Hollond Mr & Mrs James: James is a partner at EFP Capital, an investment and advisory firm. James’s mother married Baron Robert Rothschild after her and James’s father divorced. His now ex-wife, Beatrice, is on many investing firm boards, but most notably, she is a trustee on the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, a charity that specializes in helping disadvantaged children (source: https://esmeefairbairn.org.uk/beatrice-hollond). If anyone has more info on these two, please post. Epstein has 10 pieces of contact information under their name.

/hockey stands with BLM and the fight against racism

Though it shouldn't be a surprise with the multitude of threads from players and organizations alike filling /hockey and compiled just down below, we did want to make it explicit that /hockey has and will continue to fight against racism in all its forms.
We think the murder of George Floyd by the hands of police is abhorrent. We will continue to lift the voices of the hockey community that speak up against racism by ensuring their posts make it to /hockey for those to read.
And we will continue to enforce and remove any comments or racist remarks as well as all bigotry, sexism and xenophobia.
For a list of ways to donate, get involved or see how you can be a part of #BLM please follow this fantastic link: https://www.timeout.com/things-to-do/how-to-support-black-lives-matter
