I'm visiting Newfoundland for a couple of weeks from Wednesday and would really like to see owls, moose and bears in the wild.
Not the wild, and no bears, but, I plan to visit Salmonier Nature Park, as I hear good things about it. Is there anywhere else I should be aware of? I get that these animals in the wild can be hard to come by, so would like to increase my chances if possible. 2 years ago I drove from St. John's to Gros Morne and back again, without seeing a single moose, which was surprising to me.
Is the wanting to see a bear a sensible thing? How often do you see them roaming around? My partner who is from NL said that in the past, the dumps in St. John's were a great place to see bears. Is this still the case?
Genuine question from a visitor, that comes from a country where the most dangerous wild animal is a grass snake or a wasp.
Any advice or tips would be brilliant. Thanks.
So I have recently been sucked in to /nosleep
and I though hey, why not share an experience of my own. I like the idea of everything is true, even when its not
as it gives me hope that maybe this will be written off as some conspiracy theory, which very well may save my life but hey, I suppose thats just wishful thinking.
I used to work for google. Not when it blew up or anything, I worked with google from the very beginning. By worked with google I mean I helped out here and there when I could, it was nothing official. Believe it or not, the idea was never actually to get money or become rich, Brin, Page and Schmidt were in it mainly for the respect. Brin and Page werent very popular in school. As for Schmidt, I have no idea. Never really cared for the man but nonetheless, Brin and Page both were the nerds of our grade. They began this project as a way to show everyone that anyone could become more successful than you, so you should never belittle someone or treat them badly. Anyway, thats besides the point. Up until Schmidt resigned, everything was about respect and proving bullies wrong. But in 2011 when Schmidt stepped down, thats when it all went to shit.
Schmidt was the one who kept everyone in check. Stopped Larry and Sergey from taking advantage of themselves. He was like their wise older brother who would teach them right from wrong on a business level. When Eric left, thats when that control was gone, and Larry and Sergeys focus was to make as much money and as much of an impact on history as humanly possible before they pass.
It was this attitude that lead to the deal with the government. A large portion of googles wealth comes from the leeway or "wiggle room" that they get from the government. You guys probably know about the tax scandals that were uncovered with google recently? Yeah, that has nothing to do with tax avoiding and everything to do with a deal that was made. I'm not in a high enough position to know every
country that made a deal with Brin and Page, but I sure as hell know that America, Britain and other large economically stable countries are involved.
This deal, in a nutshell, gives the government full control over google. Larry and Sergey are mere puppets controlled by the government. The government controls the search results, every company decision and practically anything else google-related. Now you may be wondering, why? Why would Larry and Sergey take the deal? Whats in it for them? I honestly have no idea why they took the deal. I cant say I wouldnt have, but it was just a shock to me. Although the governments essentially own google, the government doesnt take a penny of the earnings. The government also dont have access to control YouTube, it is just google. Brin and Page also however dont need to pay the standard taxes that they would need to. They dont have a set tax. They can pay as much or as little as they like, so long as they stay discreet.
The government use google for so many shitty things. They have created google accounts solely dedicated to bullying people manipulating them into committing suicide to increase suicide rates on those who grow up in high-crime areas so that they are less likely to be put in jail and the government wont need to pay for them. This is just one of the many things they do.
They have their own blogs and things to in order to try and manipulate the media. I cant think of any actual sites off the top of my head, but im sure you have been on a shady blog site before that displays high up in the search results despite the fact that they get little traffic.
So far it seems fairly innocent, right? I mean yeah, what they are doing is wrong but its something that you can expect from governments, right? Wrong. The things they can do with google is insane. I would go more in depth but at that point I would be poking a stick at a grizzly bear. This "scandal" is so classified and the things they do are so bad that even the leaders of these countries don't know. I dont know which agency runs this operation in the UK, but in america there is a branch of the CIA whos jobs it is to keep this google thing going.
You ever thought of an idea then when you google it, it is everywhere? Yeah. What they sometimes do is monitor your searching. If you try and research an idea that they like, they will quickly within hours have images up and articles about it blah blah blah all just so they can steal your idea.
You likely also heard that the Obama administration is funding ISIS? Bullshit. All that money is going straight to the managing partners and shareholders of google. I understand that to you it may seem better to admit the truth but trust me, you dont know what I do. Its too difficult to explain, but a large portion of your life can be controlled and manipulated based on your online life. You probably wonder why people who dont use internet are happier than most others? Its because they arent being subliminally manipulated.
Now no, this isnt some MKUltra shit. Google cant make you kill plumb with a candlestick in the dining room. They are so clever, so manipulative. They control you by doing things like aiming specific advertisements at you to make you more likely to buy them, and while they will say this is for your own interest, it is not. This is so that the government can control the markets. They will throw a shitty little watch company at you so that the bigger watch companies dont crush the watch industry. That was a poor example but you get the gist of it.
You're probably wondering how this belongs on /nosleep
. It isnt a horror, it isnt creepy so far just a huge scandal being carried out by many governments. But it was just a few weeks ago that things really started to kick off.
Some incriminating files were accidentally declassified for around 3 hours. Most people didnt notice, but there were a few smartasses who discovered this security exposure and took advantage of it. I knew what was in the files obviously, but those poor bastards had no idea what they were getting themselves into. Within minutes after they had opened those files the entire floor went onto lockdown and about 17 men in suits bombed into the room and escorted the curious newbies to somewhere even I didnt know.
The next day, I came in and it was almost as if it was a dream. The entire staff team had been replaced for one, except me, Steven and Atlanta. We were the only 3 cleared to look at those files. It wasnt that the team had been replaced that freaked me out the most, it was how casual and fluid the incident was. No one acted like they were new, it was almost as if we were the new ones in a group of veterans. Then shit started to get really shady. Every now and then a team of armed men in the same perfectly tailored suits would come round and check the other employees computers. I wanted to know what for but I knew better than to ask.
Today was the worst days of all however. I went into work as usual. Usually my day consists of bug fixing, apart from when the men in suits come in. On those days I usually do nothing. Thats the thing with my division. We dont actually HAVE to do anything, we just gotta look like we are doing something and no one asks questions. At the beginning of the day we are given a list of bugs or on the odd occasion we will be trusted with adding some new features, and it doesnt matter who does them. So long as the quota is met, we are all rewarded and vice versa. One time I accidentally changed all the links to the color black instead of blue and the internet went wild over it. Luckily since I am friends with Brin, the company took the hit and while he didnt say it directly I knew that this didnt mean I was allowed to fuck up frequently. Nonetheless, today was different. Today there was no quota. I entered the workroom and standing in front of me were two suited men, shoulder to shoulder. When I entered fully, they stepped to either side revealing an older man in more casual clothes. He was wearing jeans and a green suit jacket with this oddly colored shirt underneath. It was kind of a mix between salmon and orange. Anyway, I shit myself. I panicked. Alot. I started apologizing for everything that I could think of that I had done wrong. I dont do many things wrong but I just apologized anyway through fear. He waited. When I had shut up, he said in a calm soothing voice, "I think its time you an I had a chat
" then he turned around and left the room.
The two men in suits must have slipped out during my panic because they were nowhere to be seen. Sitting on the table where the old man had been leaning was an envelope. I opened it hastily and inside was a one-way plane ticket to some Island I had never heard of, Bouvet Island, a check for $150,000 USD and some note with some strange code written on it in the same colored ink as the mans salmon-orangey shirt. If any of you could help me decrypt this I would be very grateful. It reads:
Im currently wondering what I should do. Should I go? Why would they give me a code they know I cant decipher? What do I do?
EDIT 1: I forgot to mention the school systems. I dunno about the states but in the UK I know they are pushing iPads out as a learning tool. This is not
for ease of learning, it is to target people with google etc. at a younger age. This is another thing which can be cross referenced for more assurance that this is not just some theory.
EDIT 2: GOT IT!! I realized that on the ticket there was a number which I presumed originally was the serial number or whatever (I dont fly much) but in actual fact it was binary! After translating the binary it said "bouvet" so I tried "bouvet" as the password for https://encipher.it/ (Thanks to fishermensballs for that)
but it was the wrong password, so I tried putting the binary
through as the password and it worked! The code translates to "ONE WEEK, BOUVET, FOLLOW THE PATHWAY". After reading this I realized that the ticket actually doesnt have a departure date or time on it. I dont know if I'm will
ing to go. Should I stay or should I go?
. I haven't seen or heard from the stranger
in the salmony-suit since the other day. Of all the things
that happened in my life, this is by far the creepiest.
